Saturday

Happy Spring.

Too bad there's snow on the ground.

Yes. Snow. Not a little sprinkling, but like a massive dump. It's like mother nature decided to be mean and give more snow in the past like, two weeks than we've gotten since like... November. Eh. Just as long as it warms up I'm good.

So, anyway, last night I went to a sleepover. Mmm. Fun times. We were planning to watch a movie... didn't happen. We stayed up until like, two in the morning talking to each other. It was pretty amazing.

It was all a 'you had to be there' kinda night. I could explain so many things (like I'm apparently a Nazi because my friend but the swastika on my hand wrong). And singing in some Asian song to random people. It really was an amusing night. I had a good time and it was a good way to end my break :)

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such
things there is no law.

Thursday

So. First and foremost I suppose I should start with tonight. I went to go see John Michael Talbut at my parent's church. I was required to go see him when he was visiting my parish for Confirmation class, but I wasn't able to. So, I read that he's coming and I'm a little curious. I just want to see what he's about and such. And that's what I did tonight. I went and I saw him.

My. It was beautiful. It made me wish I went and saw him yesterday, too. And it almost makes me want to see him again tomorrow (but I have other plans). Basically what it was... was breaking down the prayer- "Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, forgive me, a sinner." What powerful, but simple words. Each with a meaning we sometimes forget. The basis of our faith. We believe (or more importantly- each and every one of us chose to believe) that the Lord God, Jesus Christ is our salvation. He shows the way, and is the way.

I could go on for a long long long time about it. But, I'll have to reiterate his analogy about wheat. Us, as the wheat. In order to become bread- to be able to nourish others, we have to be reformed. We have to be taken, and ground down. God is the one who takes us, our lives and grinds it down. It can be hard, giving up what we know and what we are. However, when we choose to let him take control... good things come in the end. Then, with the flour. You add water. This can go two ways. It can be the overflow of the Holy Spirit. Your life made anew. Or the simple fact that you are drowning in life. The gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit make all the extras. Finally, comes time for the yeast. First you building upon you, your old self, what you know. But, you get deflated. Then you rise again... and this time you build yourself on the word of God. And this is good. Now is the hard part. Placed in the oven. The judgment of God. You can fight all you want, it's going to happen anyway. This is the time when you answer to all that you've done. And, in the end. You are turned into bread. Nourishment. You can feed others and help them grow.

That IS life in God. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you wish.

Lastly, this is what I was thinking on my way home. When you think of monks, priests, nuns, and others who have chosen to live a holy life... you don't think of anyone you can relate to. I know I wasn't expecting to laugh or even... understand some of his references. But I did. That's the magical thing about it. He wasn't always called into the holy life. It's amazing how life can take you on it's path. He is an amazing guy. His music is wonderful and just what he's talking about....

I had a wonderful evening. I'm glad I went.

Now, for the past few days I've been on spring break. Which means I basically don't do anything productive, stay up late and sleep in. Well, besides the fact that I've actually been working on my research paper... it's been a true spring break. Tomorrow I get to see a friend that I haven't seen since January, and well... just have a good time.

I also found some patterns of things I'd like to sew today. Simple stuff but it's stuff that I'd like to try. Maybe one day I will.

Anyhow, I figure this is getting long enough with my rambling. But I have to say this:

I love you

:)

I truly mean it. I love you and I hope God blesses your life thoroughly. My prayers go out with you all tonight, as I figure out my angst with a friend. It's all gossip really. Lets just say she needs some love that I'm not sure I can give. I ask for prayers for both of us.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust
in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit.

"Is he married?"
"What are you saying?"
"He must be pretty lonely if he has two cats."
"And you're married?"
"Yes"

"If I was the guy I would've been like 'Damn'"
XD. Watching "Wheel of Fortune".

I love watching these things.

Anyway... what a week so far.

Monday... I was up at 2:30 (yes, AM) and I couldn't fall asleep. So I had to deal with some very annoying freshmen. But it was awesome because I missed the whole day of school, ate fast food and sang. My choir went to a choir contest. We... did amazing! Straight 1's!!!!

Tuesday... fairly good. Kinda pissed because my sister yelled at me twice before school even started. But it toggled between a good and bad day. It was good because science lifted up my spirits. I got a cupcake and managed to have tons of time left over after my assignment to have fun. But it was math (where I learned I had a test), and spanish (It's an OK class...).

Wednesday... I had a fairly good day. Got the news on how we did at our choir contest. We sounded fairly good. We could have done better, but when it comes down to it, we did alright. I got caught up in photo... but I'm still confused about my new assignment. Oh well. Maybe I'll ask him tomorrow... Finished my sewing class and made a nice bag. I can't wait to show it off :). It's not amazing, but I'm fairly proud of it.

Today... besides the fact of all the snow. It was nice. Chilly but not overbearingly so. My math test was kinda hard but I think I did alright. Aced a science test I was totally unprepared for... and just had an awesome time watching a movie in Spanish... There was this one line in the movie.. I cannot remember what it was but a kid in the class said "He wants to come." XD. Yeah... It was just really funny.

I baked brownies :). I'm happy. They're sweet but good. So I hope all my friends like 'em.

Spring break should be awesome. I hopefully only have to type out my research paper....

And that should be all.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in
all of our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble
with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Sunday

I don't even know how to explain myself right now. It's Sunday, and I should be happy. Good days behind me, and hopefully good day to come. But no. I have to be sitting here almost crying.

It's such a trivial thing, and it'll sound so stupid as I explain it. But for whatever reason I just want to go and sleep forever.

Just minutes ago my sister was cleaning out this little red box that has a bunch of important-ish stuff in it. She called me over and asked if anything was going to happen with an invite I got to this National Student Leadership Conference thing... I'm holding it in my hands and realize that it's not going to happen.

It's just too much money. I wish I could go because I do want to at least try it... but I'm sure my parents would just shut it down.

So I throw it in the throw away pile and my sister's like, "Go ahead, give up now." as I'm walking away.

I don't know why it's now of all times that it's bothering me, but it is. I'm not giving up... I'm just being realistic. It's just not going to happen. I know that. So I shouldn't let that one stupid little comment make me feel so bad, right? It still does, though.

I guess it's life though. So I'll get over it and move on. :\

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire
besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the
strength of my heart and my portion forever.
-- Psalm 73:25-26

Tuesday

Hmmm... today was a complete and total 180 from yesterday. I was in such a good mood today. I have no idea why.

I wasn't waken up as early by my sister today. And I managed to fall back asleep for a little while...

Besides getting my math test back... it was good class. I understood it and it's actually pretty easy right now. (It's probably going to get very hard). Science was actually fun. Took a quiz... (28/30) had a lecture and well... it was good. History just straight up notes. Nothing challenging. Spanish we had a sub. :D

Had a little bit of a boost, too. XP. In bio before class started, my friend asked if I had lost weight. I'm amazed anyone had noticed because it really isn't that much of a loss, (.... 4 pounds so far). It made me... happy I suppose.

In spanish after I had done all my work, I was talking with my neighbors. It was about movies that are coming out soon, Twilight series (XD) and (Avatar) The last airbender. I'm finding so many people who at least watch the cartoon and liked it. So far... almost no one has said, "Ewww. That cartoon with the bald kid?" Which makes me very happy.

Uhmm... Oh yeah. It's sunny when I'm walking to my first class. That makes me smile to much.

It's also warm enough so that I don't have to wear my heavy winter jacket now.

:).

The color yellow makes me happy.

We love him, because he first loved us.

Sunday

Sleeeeeep. I'm so tired. I hate waking up early. Friday, I was up until 11:30 or so. Slept until 8:30? That's a good nights sleep for me. That's seriously sleeping in. Last night, I stayed up... til about 11, maybe a bit earlier. I was up at 7. That is not good. At 7AM I have nothing to do. So what did I do? I connected my printer to my computer (it oddly was not as hard as all my other attempts made it seem), I typed up about 90% of my letter for Confirmation. I finished a Confirmation project. All in about... 2 hours.

I've basically lazed around all weekend. I have homework I should've done... but was way to lazy to do it. So what did I do instead? I tried to perfect my cookie recipe that doesn't use eggs. They were alright. Not the best, but soft. :D. Still need to work out some kinks.

Hmm... school is fairly good now. Except for math. 78% :(. Lets hope I can bring it back up. Otherwise, A's. :D. It's tough but here's hoping that I can actually maintain good grades and not have ANY failing or close to failing grades this semester. Thankfully, all my A's cancel out my C so I have like, 3.7. Awesome.

Oh, I've been meaning to post this for a little while. I'm in people's dreams. It's really creepy. Well, one was. Considering that my bio teacher had one dream. So, we were in his classroom, and I was writing on his board. However, I apparently had a baby's body, but my normal head (or whatever). On the board I was writing all these like, complex equations and stuff.

Uh.. what?! I was just like... "Uhh..... Alright then." It certainly was an interesting thing to hear.

My friend had the other dream. We were in the choir room, and I approach her. She's like, "Lizzie! Go take attendance!" (It's a horrid task that she has to do). I'm like "Why?!" Then she says "Because!" Me: "Fine." and I walk away.

I love that they both take place at school and they manage to keep my actual personality/attributes/whatever. It's weird but amusing.

Anyway. Life is life. It'll soon be not hectic. (My sewing class is almost over. I think we have like two more weeks). Spring break is coming soon ish. Andd.... yeah. I don't have anything else to really say.

Other than I'm attempting to teach myself some guitar and reteach myself some piano. It's going along. Not well, but it's going.

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and
only Son into the world that we might live through him.

Monday

I. Hate. Drama. Hate it. So much.

Now, most people would say I'm a likable person. I don't have problems with people. I don't hate them, they don't hate me (for the most part). However... some of my friends just don't know "people etiquette". Blahhhh. Alright, so I better explain.

My friend Shi... I really have no idea how I picked her up as a friend, but I did. She is not a bad person... she just does bad things. And it's not like, murder bad, but she's going down a steep road. I really want the best for her, but she's so set in her ways. I dunno...

Anyway. We share our first class together- photography. Shi is a naturally loud person. (It's the only reason I can tell if she's sober or not...). So, we're in the darkroom and I have no idea what's going on. However, this one girl is like "Are you on something?" and Shi- just being the girl that she is said "Your mom." (God, are we in 6th grade now?!). So the other girls like, "Well thanks, I don't have a mom." And it just goes downhill from there.

I hate it. The other girl could've just shut up and not said anything. Shi could've just ignored her. But nooooo. As humans we just have to fight over moot points. Blarg.

Honestly, if the other girl has a problem with Shi, I wish they would just SAY IT. I'm pissed at both of them. They're acting like such children. I'm totally not going to take sides. Yes, Shi needs to learn what the wrong things to say are... and yes, the other girl needs to just say what's wrong.

Anyhow... drama aside...

One of my cousins is really sick. She's in the hospital, and they don't know what's wrong with her. According to her sister, she got a spinal tap. Hopefully they find out what's wrong with her. I'd like some prayers for her... she certainly needs it. She's been out of school for 2 weeks. Who knows how long she's been sick before that...

However, it's one of my other cousin's birthday tomorrow. <3. Even though her sister's sick, I hope she manages to have a good one.

Also tomorrow I'm performing with my school choir. I suppose we're kinda ready. Not as ready as I wish we were, but maybe we can pull it through. As long as we do better than the middle school we're also performing with... I'll be content with that.

Uhm... what else...

Life.

Yeah... I dunno. I think I'm done ranting. I've had enough. Time to relax, go to sleep and wake up to do it all over again. Yuck.

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one
another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God
lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Saturday

So happy. :)

I took a driving test today... aaannddd.... I'm able to drive without an adult in the car! W00t! 6 months and 10 days later... gah. I'm happy.

Backing up sucked, but I didn't maul a cone, so I passed. I don't think I even hit one. I came close, but I didn't.

Now only to get it official with the MVD and life is good. :)

I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither present nor the future, nor powers, neither height
nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is ours in Christ Jesus our
Lord.

Sunday

Oh Valentine's Day.

It's actually been a good day. There were so many factors that should've made it a bad day, but no. The lack of sleep made me more loopy than angry.... fighting with my sister didn't last long... all in all it was a good day.

I went to a party (gasp) and I actually had fun. I didn't really know too many people, but for 2.5 hours I managed to have fun. I also danced a little bit. (What?! Me, dance?). I don't dance often because I just look like a total dork. Oh well.

Tomorrow's my mom's birthday. :D. 55 I believe. Geez my parents are old. Then my dad's going to turn 60 next month.

So glad I don't have school tomorrow.

Life is generally pretty good right now. I'm starting to work out my issues and realize that.... I have nothing to complain about. I'm really truly happy and nothing can change that. (now watch, I'm going to go all manic depressive soon). But I thank God that it won't last long.

You know why it won't? I have some pretty awesome therapists in my life. You know who you are... <3

Anyway; I hope everyone is doing well.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.
-- John 3:16
Life is... pretty fantastic.

Friday I was just all "Bleh" for whatever reason. (I even took an almost 3 hour nap!). Nothing too interesting, just how it was. I don't even remember why I was that way.

Saturday was a busy day. I got film and shot a few pictures (I still need to shoot a ton more...), got fabric for the sewing class I'm going to be taking (yay!), did a driving hour (hopefully I'll get my provisional next month), did some homework (choir and science... too lazy to do math. XP), and just relaxed. I had a pretty chill day that was all to myself. Loved it.

Then today... church was good but it was a little... iffy. As always, I'm in the choir so I had fun doing what I always do. And it was crowded today too. There were people standing in the back.. and that never happens during ordinary time. But it was nice. :). After that was over I headed to the other building to wait for class to start (a whole... hour and a half ish). Apparently, my ex's mom was late picking him up. I was like, "Oh... well might as well talk to him. So much better than my other options."... so we talked, for about a half hour. It was nice. Talking, laughing, awkward moments... life as normal. I'm glad that we can talk to each other without it being awkward. I'm really happy about it. After he left (pft, only another hour left to wait...) I went inside and read some. I was thinking... one year made such a difference. This time last year... I was so sure that we'd go out, so sure that maybe I'd be ready for a relationship... and well, look where it is now. A blossoming friendship. Back then, I had no idea that this was how it was going to turn out. At all. But that's life.

However, class was a touchy subject. We were talking about abortion and such. Throughout this whole class I was like, "I'm so glad that I don't have any of these situations to deal with. I'm so glad that my life has been so blessed with angels that watch over me and protect me and guide me." Of course, so does everyone else. But my angels steer me to the people, to the life, that has no worries. I can wake up in the morning and know that when I get home... there will be no drama to drag back. It makes me so happy.

My life is blessed with so many people that I could not give up. From the ones that I've fought with, the ones I've depended on, and the ones that just know how I am... they are all in my life for a reason.

That was another thing about this class... they reaffirmed the one thing that I am always pleading with God to know... "God has a plan for everyone. Even from before you were conceived, he knew you." I'm always asking God and wondering... why am I put here on earth? What is the reason for my life? And then I realize... maybe my siblings wouldn't have a father. Maybe that friend of mine would be no longer here... maybe my purpose has yet to come. Maybe I'm just living this life until I get to my purpose. My calling has not yet been revealed. I know for sure that I will be the child that is going to stay with the church.

Besides my parents... I am one of the most... "Faith-full" ones of my family (not including cousins obviously, because then I'd probably fall along the way). My oldest sister... doesn't even go to church. I feel sorry for my niece, as she'll never get baptized. To not know the Lord... it hurts me a little when I think about it. Such a beautiful blessing... I hope she finds the Lord when she is older. Then my brother... he probably doesn't go often. My other sister just goes to church then goes home. However, I am on church ground for 4 1/2 hours every Sunday. I'm at practice for an hour to an hour and a half. I'm not complaining at all. I love it. it's such a beautiful thing. I love that I'm at church so much. It's a total 180 from a few years ago. I used to hate church, cross my arms and practically fall asleep. But now... I'm in the choir, my prayers being lifted up as I sing. I sometimes can't wait to get to church.

It's so amazing how God works in our lives. It truly is. Maybe to a person just meeting me or even looking at me... I don't seem like such a devout Catholic... but I am. Maybe I'm too shy to do the actions I should, but there's the intent. I just need to break open a little bit more and actually do it. Maybe I need to pray more, but God knows what I want. I just need to voice it. Maybe I don't do everything a good Catholic should do... but I do a heck of a lot more than some of the Catholics I know.

I've gone on such a rant about God today... I truly didn't mean to but I suppose I am inspired. I'm not sure why this week was so different from the others, but it is. I hope some of my enthusiasm will spread to other people. I hope I can keep this as I'm waking up at 6:30 tomorrow.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

I have always loved this verse. The other night I looked at my bible, and I have this bookmarked. Today, it was one of the readings. I think it just fits for today. I love you all. And I hope God's love embraces everyone.
